Monforte in Jazz Festival

By climbing through the streets of Monforte d’Alba, beautiful center of the Langhe and the birthplace of great producers of Barolo, there is always conquered by the beauty of ‘ Auditorium Horszowsky, situated on the summit of a medieval village. A unique place and one of the most unique locations in the Italian festival scene: right here many of the most famous and popular players in the international music scene give life, for 43 years, for one appointment. Artistic quality and sophistication of the performers come together in the program Monfortinjazz and more to offer to an increasingly international audience, educated and prepared a unique suggestion.

The Monforte Jazz Auditorium

The outdoor auditorium of Monforte D’Alba, exploits a natural auditorium located between the ancient bell tower at the top, the Oratory of St.
Augustine on the left and bottom, to serve as the stage background, the walls of the castle and the oratory of Scarampi Santa Elisabetta. La capacity of this space is only 800 seats, including forums that are held in high only during the festival.

The auditorium was named in 1986 to the great Russian pianist Mieczysław Horszowski during his memorable concert.

The acoustics, because of the particular shape, is excellent and so is the visibility ‘to reach every point of the auditorium: all this in a space thus collected makes the concerts unique and impressive for the spectators and for very large international artists who honor us with their presence.
