Barolo White Truffle Hunting Tour Experience from Milan FAQ

When is the best period for a serach?

There is no right or wrong season to hunt for truffles, the only difference is in the truffle to look for. In fact every truffle has its seasonality, the famous Alba Truffle “Magnatum Pico” can be found only from September to December, the white truffle called “Bianchetto” can be found from January to April. Instead during the warmer seasons between May and August it is easier to find black truffles called “Scorzoni”, while the prized black truffle can be found from mid-November to mid-March. In any season, however, the experience of seeing the dog in search of these treasures hidden in the ground will be beautiful, regardless of the truffle found.

I'm not an expert on truffle; can I participate in your experience?

Truffle hunting is open to everyone, to those who already know truffles and to those who do not know them. This outdoor activity was born to introduce truffles but above all to make them discover how to look for them, where they are, to understand why they are so expensive and valuable.

What about the cancellation policy?

60 days before departure will be subject to 30% of the program price.
59 – 30 days before departure will be subject to 60% of the program price.
29 days or less upon departure will be subject to 100% of the program price.

Can I buy truffle at the experience?

Absolutely, you will be able to find the truffles you found during the hunt, at a price in line with market prices, depending on the season in which you will hunt, in Alba you will also find many Trifolai and shops that can help you choose the best truffle.
