The truffle hunt is about 2 hours. At the beginning we will explain you something about Black and White Barolo truffle. Then, passing Barolo wine yards and hazelnut fields, we arrive at the truffle woods, called in Piedmont “tartufaia“. There we follow the dog and we will find some truffle.
We will leave at 9.00 am to reach the forest where the truffle hunt will take place. After a brief introduction and explanations from your “Trifolau”, we will start the truffle hunting tour.
Thanks to the instructions of your trifolau and the help of the truffle dog, you will enter the woods. Your task together with your truffle hunter will be to accompany the dog in areas rich in truffles.
When hunting for truffles you need to be patient, as your dog should calmly sniff near the tree roots in search of the prized truffle. Following the nose of your trusted dog, you will find different truffles under the ground.
After about 3 hours of searching, walking through the woods, after having dug carefully into the ground so as not to ruin the truffle, we will return to Barolo
